Hansa South India Cultural Tour

Day 01: Arrive Bangalore (by International flight)
Arrive Bangalore airport where you will be met and assisted by a Hansa Vacations representative, who will assist and brief you about your tour & escort you to the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: Bangalore
After breakfast you will proceed for a sightseeing tour of the Bangalore City. It is the capital of Karnataka state and India’s sixth largest city and one of the major IT hubs of India. The city has a reputation as a Garden city. Today you will start your visit with Lalbagh (Garden), Bull Temple and great warrior king Tipu Sultan’s summer palace. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Bangalore – Shravanabelagola – Hassan (189 Kms – 04 Hrs)
After breakfast you will depart for Hassan en-route visit Shravanabelagola, which is consists of a gigantic monolith statue of Bahubali or Gomasteshwara, it is also a prominent pilgrimage centre. Upon arrival, check in to Hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 04: Hassan – Halebid – Belur – Hassan
After breakfast proceed for a full day excursion to Halebid and Belur. Halibed, more correctly “Hale’beedu”, there are two prominent temples dedicated to the Lord Shiva. The bigger temple is called the Hoysaleshwara temple & the smaller one the Shataleshwara temple. Continue your excursion to Belur and visit the Chennakeshava temple. Chennakeshava is one of the thousand names of Vishnu, and also refers to Lord Krishna and one of his ten avatars. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 05: Hassan – Mysore (117 Kms – 03 Hrs)
After breakfast drive to the historical city of Mysore. Upon arrival, check in to Hotel. Afternoon free to visit the local shopping centres or any pursue any personal activities. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 06: Mysore
After breakfast proceed for a full day tour of the Royal city of Mysore starting with the Chamundi Hills, where you get an opportunity to see the statue of the mythical Nandi Bull and further ahead explore the old Chamundeswari Temple which is an approximately 2000 years old. Later visit the Mysore Palace with its outstanding troves of invaluable treasures, ivory inlaid doors, lavishly decorated interiors with stained glass, mirrors, pillars, paintings and jewels. Afternoon visit the Brindavan Garden & Srirangapatnam which was once the capital of king Hyder Ali & Tipu Sultan also known as “The tiger of the Mysore” followed by a visit to Daria Dault. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 07: Mysore – Nagarhole National Park (91 Kms – 02 Hrs)
Morning have breakfast at Hotel, then commence scenic drive to Nagarhole National Park. Arrive Nagarhole & Transfer to Hotel. It is famous for Black striped Royal Tiger & Elephant, Various deer including Chital, Sambar, Stealthy, Elusive, many species of Birds, regal & Noble. This park was established in 1955. Later enjoy game viewing in the National Park. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 08: Nagarhole National Park – Bandipur National Park (100 Km – 03 Hrs)
After breakfast enjoy a ride on the Kabini river. Later depart for Bandipur National Park located between Nilgiri Mountains and the Western Ghats. Bandipur covers an area about 865 Square Kilometer and located far south in the state of Karnataka. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. After some refreshments proceed for a safari to the National Park, during the safari you can see leopards, Sloth bear, monitor lizards mad many varieties of birds & elephants in their natural habitat. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 09: Bandipur National Park – Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary (107 Km – 03 Hrs)
Morning again enjoy a safari at the National Park for game viewing. Later depart for Wayanad and check-in the hotel on arrival. The name of Wayanad is derived from “Wayalnadu”, which means the land of paddy fields. This place is one of the largest producers of pepper in the country. Later enjoy a game view in the Wayanad wildlife sanctuary followed by an opportunity to see the massive Banasura dam, which is the second largest dam in the whole of Asia. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Wayanad – Sultan Battary – Wayanad
After breakfast enjoy a visit to other tourist attractions such as Nanjungud & Kalpetta Eddakkal Caves. Afternoon take a short excursion to Sultan Battery passing through thick forest of rubber, tea, oranges, coffee estate & other cash crops. Sultan Battahry name was derived by Tipu Sultan, who built a fort here. Later visit the Tipu Sultan Fort and Jain Temples. After sightseeing drive back to Wayanad. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 11: Wayanad – Calicut (Kozhikode) (76 Kms – 02 Hrs)
After breakfast depart for Calicut which is also known as Kozhikode. Enjoy the scenic drive and  eye-catching beauty and panoramic views of natural green surroundings. After arriving Calicut check-in to the hotel. Later enjoy a short tour to the Pazhassirajah museum, the Public Library, Town Hall, Mamanchira tank, Kappad and the Beypore Beach. Evening will be at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 12: Calicut – Nilambur - Malappuram – Thrissur
After breakfast drive to Thrissur stopping en-route at Nilambur which is famous for tea plantations. Here you can visit the Teak Museum and  Malappuram which is augmented by three rivers flowing through it – Bharathapuha, Chaliyar and the Kadalundi. Continue drive to Thrissur. Arrive Thrissur and check-in to Hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 13: Thrissur – Guruvyur – Thrissur (27 Kms – ½ Hrs)
After breakfast visit Vadakkunathan Kshetram Temple, Church of Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral & the Hindu’s only Sri Krishna Temple at Guruvayur. If you are lucky you may get a opportunity to watch a wedding or a family ceremony which held here quite frequently. Later visit Anakotta Guruvayur Devaswom an Elephant sanctuary & one of the largest sanitariums in the world. Stay Overnight at the hotel.

Day 14: Thrissur – Palakkad (80 Kms – 02 Hrs)
After breakfast depart for Palakkad. Upon arrival in Pallakad you will check-in to the hotel. Later visit Palakkad Fort which was built by Hyder Ali of Mysore in 1766 and Silent Valley National Park where you can see royal Bengal striped tigers, lion-tailed macaques, elephants and some very rare plants and hurbs. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 15: Palakkad – Munnar (226 Kms – 05 Hrs)
After breakfast drive to Munnar, which is one of the most beautiful Hill Station of Kerala and famous for its Tea Plantation farms. Upon arrival in Munnar you will check-in to the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 16: Munnar – Thekkady (Periyar) (160 Kms – 04 Hrs)
After breakfast visit the local markets and Tea Museum. Later depart for Periyar, which is also known as Thekkady. Upon arrival in Thekkady you will check-in to the hotel. Periyar National park is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world. It is situated within the boundaries of the Western Ghats, in the Southern Indian State of Kerala. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 17: Thekkady (Periyar National Park)
Early morning enjoy a boat ride on lake Periyar river and view the amazing flora and fauna in the Periyar National Park. Afternoon you are free to relax or visit the surrounding spice plantations. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 18: Thekkady – Varkala (208 Kms – 05 Hrs)
After breakfast drive to Varkala which is one of the most prominent beach destinations of Kerala. Upon arrival in Varkala you will check-in to a seaside resort. Stay overnight at the resort.

Day 19: Varkala
Entire day free to relax and personal activities or spend time at the beach. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 20: Varkala –Alleppey (Backwaters) (130 Kms – 03 Hrs)
Morning depart for Alleppey which is your boarding point for the amazing House Boat cruise. Arrive Alleppey and embark on the Houseboat, which is also known as “Kettuvallam” in the local language. The Houseboat will cruise at a leisurely pace along palm-fringed waterways, giving a panoramic view of Kerala’s village life. Lunch and dinner will be served on board the house boat. Stay overnight on board the houseboat.

Day 21: House Boat – Cochin (85 Kms – 02 Hrs)
After breakfast disembark from the Houseboat and drive to Cochin. Arrive Cochin check-in to the hotel. Later proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of Cochin which is also the commercial and industrial hub and capital of the state of Kerala. Start your tour with the Dutch Palace followed by a visit to the Jewish Synagogue, Fort Kochi, St. Francis Church & Santa Cruz Basilica. In the evening enjoy a Kathkali dance show at a local auditorium. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 22: Cochin – Bangalore (Departure)
Morning visit the Dutch cemetery, the Chinese fishing Nets and the Wilingdon Island. Afternoon a Hansa Vacations representative will transfer you to the airport to board flight to Bangalore where you will take the connecting International flight back home.
