Rajasthan Special Forts & Palace Tour

Destinations : Delhi - Samode - Nawalgarh - Mandawa - Bikaner - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur - Ranakpur - Udaipur – Jaipur - Agra - Delhi

Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Upon arrival in Delhi you will be met our Hansa Vacations representative and after a warm welcome proceed to the pre-booked hotel. Special welcome awaits you at hotel in traditional Indian style with aarti & tika. Stay overnight at hotel in Delhi.

Day 02: Delhi
After breakfast, proceed for a tour of the city. Your sightseeing will start with a visit to the (Birla Mandir) Laxminarayan Temple, built by one of India's foremost business families and dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the preserver. Proceed to the former centre of Moghul Power, Old Delhi that offers ancient monuments, narrow streets and bustling bazaars. Drive past the Red Fort, built in 1648 and board the 'cycle rickshaw' for a unique experience from the Red Fort, through "Chandni Chowk" or Silver Street, experiencing the sights and sounds of this very busy avenue-heading west from the Fort. Later visit the Jama Masjid, the greatest mosque in India and completed in 1658 by Shah Jahan who also built the Taj Mahal, and the Raj Ghat, the simple memorial to Mahatma Gandhi.

Afternoon proceed for a visit to New Delhi. Drive past the stately government buildings of the British Era designed by Lutyens, including the India Gate built in memory of the 85,000 Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during World War 1. Opposite the India Gate, is the massive Rashtrapati Bhawan, the official residence of the President of India. Continue on to Humayun`s Tomb of the Mughal era followed by tour of the towering minaret of Qutab Minar. Qutub-Minar in red and buff sandstone is the highest tower in India. It has a diameter of 14.32m at the base and about 2.75m on the top with a height of 72.5m. Stay overnight at hotel in Delhi.

Day 03: Delhi - Samode
After breakfast drive to Samode village. Samode is a beautiful village in Rajasthan steeped in deep history with a magnificent Palace that till date depicts the glorious past and rich heritage and cultural beauty of bygone era. The Samode Palace is now converted into one of the most luxuries Heritage hotel in Rajasthan.

Samode Palace initially built in the sixteenth century as a Rajput fort and was later converted from a fort into an exquisitely designed palace in typical fusion of Rajput and Muslim architectural styles. Stay overnight at Samode Palace hotel.

Day 04: Samode - Nawalgarh
After breakfast we drive to Nawalgarh, situated in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. Nawalgarh is famous for its splendid forts and palaces, murals and frescoes on havelis, which has made it rightly dubbed as Open Art Gallery. On arrival you will check-in to the hotel. Later we will proceed to visit Bala Kila Fort, Fatehgarh Fort, Roop Niwas Palace and Laxmi Narayan Mandir. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 05: Nawalgarh - Bikaner
After breakfast depart for the city of Bikaner - the green city. On arrival you will check-in at the hotel. Later enjoy a half day sightseeing tour starting with Junagarh Fort, Bhand Sagar Temple, Lazmi Niwas Palace, Lalgarh Palace and Mool Nayakji the shrine dedicated to Vaishnav Temple.

Afternoon enjoy a short excursion to the Camel Breeding Farm the largest camel breeding farm in Asia. Stay overnight at the hotel in Bikaner.  
Day 06: Bikaner - Jaisalmer
After breakfast depart for the desert town of Jaisalmer also dubbed as “The Golden City of India”. The city of Jaisalmer is synonyms with forts, palaces and havelis, sand dunes and camel safaris. On arrival check-in to the pre-booked hotel, freshen up change and relax at the comfort of your room. Afternoon is free for leisure activities at your free will. Later in the evening enjoy the traditional Rajasthani thali or the Rajasthani delicious delicacies and overnight stay at the hotel in Jaisalmer.

Day 07: Jaisalmer
After breakfast proceed for a full day sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer starting with the Jaisalmer Fort followed by the Havelis, museums including the desert museum, folklore museum and government museum. Further we also visit to Gadsisar Lake a scenic rainwater lake surrounded by small temples and shrines. Evening enjoy camel safari on the Sam-Sand dunes and explore the hidden glory in the golden sands of Jaisalmer. Later enjoy the marvellous sun-set over the horizon painting the surrounding with color of gold. Stay overnight at the hotel.   

Day 08: Jaisalmer – Jodhpur
After breakfast drive to Jodhpur – the Sun City of India. This enchanting city of Jodhpur set in the border of the Thar Desert is famous for its marvelous forts and palaces, temples and rich culture that portray the beauty of Rajasthan. On arrival at Jodhpur we visit the famous Mehrangarh Fort situated on a 150-mtr high hill. It houses many miniature paintings and galleries, followed by a visit to Jashwant Thada a royal canetaph built in white marble. Stay overnight at the hotel.  

Day 09: Jodhpur Sightseeing
Morning after breakfast take an excursion to the Bishnoi Village. The Bishnoi community are followers of Lord Vishnu and believe in nature worship. The community was founded by Guru Jambeshwar and he strictly enforced his principle to not destroy living creatures including plants and animals. Thus trees and animals are considered to be sacred by the Bishnois. Along with these you can visit the nearby villages of weavers, potters and rug makers. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Jodhpur – Kumbhalgarh - Ranakpur
After breakfast drive to Kumbhalgarh and visit the famous Kumbhalgarh Fort. Absence of royal grandeur and the charm of royal monuments, the visit to the Fort will give you the clear idea that it was a hide out of the warriors. Later continue your drive and arrive Ranakpur Jain Temples which is the sacred pilgrim destination of Jainism acclaimed globally by tourists and Jain religion. Check-in hotel followed by a sightseeing tour of Ranakpur temples. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Ranakpur - Udaipur
Morning drive to Udaipur- the City of Lakes. Udaipur is a major attraction of Rajasthan tour and is famous for its splendid forts, palaces and picturesque lakes. On arrival check in at hotel followed by a visit to the architectural wonder of the City Palace in Udaipur, located at the bank of the Lake Pichola which is a amalgamation of Medieval, European, and Chinese architecture. City Palace adorned with mirrored walls and ivory doors, colored glass windows and inlaid marble balconies overlooks the lake and the city of Udaipur and the Peacock Courtyard offers a feast for the eyes. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Udaipur
After breakfast proceed for a full day sightseeing tour of Udaipur visiting Nagda Eklingi temples  followed by a drive past the picturesque Lake Pichola, Jagdish Temple, Fateh Sagar Lake and Saheliyon Ki Bari. The splendid beauty of the lake palace and its prefect setting amidst the picturesque Lake Pichola grabs the attention of tourists the most. In the evening enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola. Stay overnight at the hotel.  

Day 13: Udaipur - Deogarh
After breakfast drive to Deogarh, this city is dotted with one of the most splendid forts of Rajasthan. On arrival you will check in to the hotel. Later enjoy a sightseeing tour visiting the famous Deogarh Mahal and its intricately designed cenotaphs and palaces. Stay overnight at the hotel.  

Day 14: Deogarh - Jaipur
Early morning drive to Jaipur also dubbed as Pink City of India. It is one of the important travel destination and attraction of Rajasthan tour visited by tourists from the entire globe. On arrival you will check in at the hotel. Late afternoon you are free to relax at the hotel or visit the local shopping centres. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.  

Day 15: Jaipur
Morning proceed for a excursion to Amber Fort located on the outskirts of Jaipur, starting with a joy ride on an Elephant. Visit the beautiful Sheesh Mahal which is also known as 'Palace of Mirrors' it is one of the most impressive sights inside the Amber Fort. Afternoon you will visit the City Palace which was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. It also houses a sequence of gardens, courtyards and buildings with a mix of Rajasthani & Mughal architecture, Jantar Mantar – the royal Observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh, also drive past Hawa Mahal – the Palace of Winds. Evening visit the local markets and stay overnight at hotel in Jaipur.

Day 16: Jaipur – Agra
Morning drive to Agra en-route you will visit the ghost town of Fatehpur Sikri built by Emperor Akbar. The entire town was abandoned due to shortage of water. On arrival you will check-in to the hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Agra.

Day 17: Agra
Early morning before breakfast visit the monument of Love to catch a glimpse of the Taj Mahal at sunrise. We are about to witness one of the greatest sights of one's lifetime - the Taj Mahal at sunrise, as we visit the fabled Taj Mahal to witness the magical effects caused by the reflections of the changing colours of the rising Sun or setting Sun on this brilliant white marble building.  “Monument of Love” - Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays) symbolizes eternal love frozen in white marble built by Mughal emperor Shahjahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz.

Return to hotel for breakfast, after breakfast you will visit the Agra Fort. Agra Fort is located on the right bank of the river Yamuna in the city of Agra in Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the most important and robustly built strongholds of the Mughal Empire, embellished with number of richly decorated buildings encompassing the imposing Mughal style of art and architecture. It was constructed by the third Mughal emperor Akbar on the remains of an ancient site known as Badalgarh. Sikandar Lodi (1487-1517) was the first Sultan of Delhi to shift his capital from Delhi to Agra. Rest of the day you will be free to relax and enjoy the amenities at the hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Agra.

Day 18: Agra – Delhi (204 Kms / 04 hrs)
Breakfast at hotel. Morning depart for Delhi by surface. En-route visit Sikandra. The Mughal Emperor Akbar, known as Akbar the Great, ruled an empire that stretched across North India from 1556 to 1605. His reign is considered the pinnacle of Mughal rule in India. Akbar's tomb is located in the serene ambience of Sikandra 3 km away from Agra. Akbar began building it during his lifetime and his son, the Mughal Emperor Jahangir, completed it. Some of its design features are similar to the design of the Taj Mahal built later in Agra. Akbar's tomb at Sikandra has a large arched entrance and green lawns, on which deer can be seen grazing, surround the tomb. The entrance is decorated with marble inlay work around the arch, and the inner surface of the dome of the tomb is decorated with images of flowers, geometric designs and Islamic calligraphy. Upon arrival in Delhi our representative will meet you and transfer you to the International Airport for flight back home.
