North India Spa & Ayurveda Tour

Day 01:  Arrive Delhi                                        
In the arrival lounge at Delhi International airport, Hansa Vacations representative will be waiting for you with a placard in your name will later escort you to hotel - The Oberoi. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: Delhi
After breakfast, meet the guide in the hotel lobby after morning breakfast and depart for the full day sightseeing of the city. Start your sightseeing from Qutab Minar which was built by Qutab-ud-din- Aibek and later completed by the illtutmish, there are many other imposing buildings in the Qutab complex. After that visit Humayun’s Tomb which is the mausoleum of Humayun’s the Mughal emperor and basically the idea of Taj Mahal was incorporated from this monument only. Drive past Rashtrapati Bhawan, (President Palace) and take a halt at India gate which is just in front of the President’s Palace. Now you will be driven to the Mughal era, old Delhi, visit Jama Masjid (Jama Mosque) and later take a walk in the Chandani Chowk (Local Bazaar) which was very famous in the bygone era and till date it has a bustling crowd and is full of hawkers. Evening will be free to walk around the Connaught Place shopping hub. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 03 : Delhi / Dehradun (By Flight) - Dehradun – Rishikesh (by road approx 2 hrs drive)
After breakfast you will be escorted by our representative to the domestic airport to board flight to Dehradun. On arrival at Dehradun airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to Rishikesh. Rishikesh is located in the foothills of the Himalayas and attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists each year, from within India, as well as from other countries. Rishikesh is also known as "Teerth Nagri" which means city of temples, Yoga and Meditation. It is also known as the gateway to the Himalayas. Arrive and check in to the hotel - Ananda In The Himalayas. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Abhyanga (55 minutes)
A traditional synchronized full body massage given by two experienced Ayurveda therapists using Sesame oil; this experience is also known as the “four-handed-massage.” Abhyanga improves physical consistency, helps to liquefy toxins and induces relaxation, whilst normalizing blood pressure and eliminating impurities.

Pizhichil (75 minutes)
An indulgent, rejuvenating experience, during which lukewarm herbal oils anoint the entire body. The anointment is very slow and rhythmic with light pressure. Pizhichil strengthens immunity, lubricates the joints, liquefies toxins, increases flexibility and strengthens immunity.

Choornaswedan (55 minutes)
Following a full body massage with dosha specific oils, therapeutic sweating is induced by the application of warmed herbal poultices. Choornaswedana is commonly known as “the bundle massage”. It increases circulation, speeds up the elimination of toxins, relieves muscle pain and stiffness, rheumatism, arthritis and sports injuries

Sirodhara (55 minutes)
Luke warm herbal oil is poured in an even stream on to the forehead to pacify and revitalize the mind and the body. As well as its intense rejuvenating and anti-aging effects, Shirodhara improves memory, normalizes sleep patterns and addresses other neurological disorders

Takradahara (55 minutes)
A calming experience where cool medicated buttermilk is poured onto the forehead to bring relief to those who suffer from insomnia, depression, gynecological psychological and stress related conditions.

Udwarthana (45 minutes)
A deep, dry massage using herbal powders which stimulate the hair follicles assisting to break down the body’s excess subcutaneous fat. This massage aims to address obesity and mobilizes toxins. Beneficial for firming and toning.

Mukha Lepa (55 minutes)
For centuries Mukha Lepa has been used as a beauty ritual for Indian women. Traditional herbs are used to cleanse, exfoliate, tone and finally hydrate. A specialised dosha specific herbal lepa or mask is applied to the face to bring out the beauty within.

Tan Lepa (55 minutes)
This stimulates the natural cleansing and healing abilities of the body. Following a medicated herbal oil massage a dosha specific full body mask is applied to the entire body that aids in drawing out toxins and relieving aches and pains, leaving your entire body refreshed and calm

Tarpana (30 minutes)
Treating the eyes by applying ghee is known as “Akshi Tarpana” or “Netra Vasthi” in Ayurveda. Whilst lying on the droni table a ‘ring’ of flour paste is made around the eyes. Medicated ghee is then poured gently into the ring over the eyes. After sufficient unction has been poured, the eyes are intermittently opened and closed for a period not exceeding five minutes. This experience is good for treating tired eyes as well as other eye disorders.

Gandusa (30 minutes)
This experience involves the retention of medicated oil or decoction in the mouth for a few minutes. Gandusa is good for cleansing, detoxifying and aids in mouth, voice, gum and tooth disorders. Gandusa addresses bad breath, whilst improving the flexibility of facial muscles.

Kavala (30 minutes)
Requires the retention, movement and gargling of medicated oil or decoction in the mouth for few minutes. This simple and soothing treatment is highly beneficial for disorders of ear, nose, throat and mouth whilst improving the voice.

Kati Vasti (30 minutes)
Practiced to ease lower back pain. A small circle of paste made from black gram or wheat flour is placed strategically on the lower back. Warmed oil is then poured into the depression created by the ring of paste. This soothes muscular tissue, alleviates pain and lubricates the discs and nerves.

Sneha Vasti (30 minutes)
The main seat of vata dosha is pakwashaya (Large intestine). Oil enemas are used to access this area and relieve Vata related disorders such as constipation, neurological ailments, flatulence, lower back ache, gout and rheumatism

Kashaya Vasti (55 minutes)
An enema normally administered after a course of sneha vasti. A herbal decoction is mixed with salt, honey, medicated oil and herbal paste is administered. Kashaya vasti nourishes and rebuilds the Dhatus (body tissue), strengthens their function and restores the body’s immunity. Whilst being highly nutritive, this enema helps to remove accumulated malas (toxins) from the colon.

Nasyam (30 minutes)
Instillation of medicated oil into the nostrils after massaging and inducing sweating to the upper portion of the body from the shoulders. During this process the areas around the nose, neck and shoulders are massaged continuously. This treatment is highly effective for cleansing of sinuses and treating migraines, chronic colds, headaches and chest congestion.

Talapodhichil (45 minutes)
A herbal headpack applied to relax the mind, which in turn brings peace to the body and soul. A cooling application that helps relieve insomnia, stress, migraines and brings overall balance to the being.

Urovasthi (30 minutes)
An experience that balances the Heart Chakra and helps reduce stress to alleviate future problems of the thoracic region. Warmed, medicated oil is gently poured into a reservoir made from gram flour, placed strategically over the chest area. This soothes muscular tissue, alleviates discomfort and balances the mind-body connection.

Day 04: Rishikesh
This day indulge in the various Spa / Ayurveda treatments offered by the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel. 

Day 05: Rishikesh
This morning indulge in the various Spa / Ayurveda treatments offered by the hotel.This afternoon proceed for a  sightseeing trip of Rishikesh visiting Lakshman Jhula is a suspended iron bridge that has become very popular amongst the tourists for the views it offers of the flowing Ganga below. The Ganga appears very serene and yet tempestuous and rive, Triveni Ghat This main bathing ghat owes its name to the fact that it is built on the confluence of the three legendary rivers, Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, Bharat Mata Temple The oldest temple in Rishikesh, Bharat Mandir situated in the centre of the old town, has an idyllic location on the banks of the river Ganga. The temple deity, Lord Vishnu, is carved out of a single black stone called Saligram and is placed in the inner sanctum of the temple. It is interesting to note that the idol installed here has a distinctly Himalayan cast of features. Stay overnight stay at the hotel. 
Day 06 : Rishikesh / Dehradun (Approx 2 hrs drive) - Dehradun / Delhi (By Flight)
This morning indulge in the various Spa / Ayurveda treatments offered by the hotel. Afternoon you will be driven to Dehradun airport to board flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Hotel- The Oberoi. Stay overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07 : Delhi / Udaipur ( By Flight)
This morning will be at leisure. Early afternoon our representative will escort you to domestic airport to board flight to Udaipur. On arrival at Udaipur airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to hotel - Oberoi Udaivilas.  Rest of the day will be at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.    

Day 08: Udaipur
This morning enjoy the services at the luxurious spa with its own swimming pool overlooks the lake and is a haven of serenity. Trained therapists pamper body and soul with rejuvenating treatments. The resort also offers the opportunity to undertake private Yoga, meditations and Pranayam sessions with the resident Yoga teacher. Afternoon proceed for city tour of Udaipur visiting City Palace. They are as exquisite as gems of marble carvings, inlaid with mirror mosaics and murals and miniature painting. Later visit Sahelion ki Bari and Jagdish Temple. This evening enjoy a boat ride on the lake Pichola The Lake Palace which is now converted into a luxury hotel is a masterpiece of art and architecture. Stay overnight stay the hotel.  

Day 09: Udaipur
Early morning enjoy the services at the luxurious spa with its own swimming pool which overlooks the lake and is a haven of serenity. Trained therapists pamper body and soul with rejuvenating treatments. The resort also offers the opportunity to undertake private Yoga, meditations and Pranayam sessions with the resident Yoga teacher. Late morning proceed to visit the fabulous 500-year-old Jain Temples of Ranakpur. The temples are superbly preserved in near perfect condition. The most distinctive feature are the 29 halls of the main temple, some octagonal and many more than one story high, are dissected by 1444 pillars, each sculpted with unique designs which no two are the exactly alike. The carving on the walls depicts musicians and dancers who have been modeled out of brackets between the pillars and the ceiling. Return to the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 : Udaipur / Mumbai (By Flight) - Depart Mumbai
After early breakfast you will be escorted to the airport to board flight to Mumbai. On arrival at Mumbai airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to The Oberoi. Afternoon proceed for tour of Mumbai visiting Gateway of India, Bombay's landmark constructed in 1927 to commemorate Emperor George V's visit, the first State, ever to see India by a reigning monarch. Followed by a drive through Hanging Gardens (now known as Sir K.P. Mehta Gardens), where the old English art of topiary is practiced. Continue to the Dhobi Ghat, an open-air laundry where washmen physically clean and iron hundreds of items of clothing, delivering them the next day. Next, visit Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (known as Victoria Terminus) & the Prince of Wales Museum (closed on Monday).  Around midnight a Hansa Vacations representative will assist and transfer you to the International airport to board the International flight for onward journey.
