South India Wildlife Tour
Duration : 15 Nights / 16 Days
Destinations : Bangalore - Nagarhole - BR Hills - Bandipur - Ooty - Munnar - Periyar - Kumarakom – Kochi

Day 01: Arrive Bangalore
Namaste and welcome to Bangalore International airport. As you arrive at the airport you will be assisted and welcomed by our Hansa Vacations representative who will escort you to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02: Bangalore
After breakfast you will proceed for a sightseeing tour of the Bangalore City. It is the capital of Karnataka state and India’s sixth largest city and one of the major IT hubs of India. The city has a reputation as a Garden city. Today you will start your visit with Lalbagh (Garden), Bull Temple and great warrior king Tipu Sultan’s summer palace. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Bangalore - Mysore
After an early breakfast drive to Mysore and check-in to the hotel. Later proceed for a full day tour of the Royal city of Mysore starting with the Chamundi Hills, where you get an opportunity to see the statue of the mythical Nandi Bull and further ahead explore the old Chamundeswari Temple which is an approximately 2000 years old. Later visit the Mysore Palace with its outstanding troves of invaluable treasures, ivory inlaid doors, lavishly decorated interiors with stained glass, mirrors, pillars, paintings and jewels. Afternoon visit the Brindavan Garden & Srirangapatnam which was once the capital of king Hyder Ali & Tipu Sultan also known as “The tiger of the Mysore” followed by a visit to Daria Dault. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 04: Mysore – Nargarhole National Park
After breakfast drive to Nagarhole National Park. This National Park is counted among one of India’s best wildlife parks. It has a large elephant and bison population. It also hosts a variety of animal species along with approximately 250 species of birds. On its northern confines is the Kabini River and on its southern fringes is the Bandipur national park. A dam on the Kabini River and its picturesque reservoir divides the two national parks. During the dry season this artificial lake attracts a large number of animals making it an ideal spot for sighting wildlife.

Late afternoon enjoy a safari to the National Park. Stay overnight at the wildlife resort.

Day 05: Nargarhole National Park
Early morning explore the National Park and also an opportunity to see some very rare species of birds and later enjoy a boat ride on the Kabini River. Late afternoon you will proceed for another round of jeep safari to this fascinating National Park.  Stay overnight at the wildlife lodge.

Day 06: Nargarhole National Park - Biligiriranga Hills (BR Hills)
After breakfast drive to BR Hills. Arrive and check-in to the tented accommodation and later proceed for a trek to experience the exotic wildlife at hills. Stay overnight in tented accommodation.

Day 07: Biligiriranga Hills
Entire day you are free to explore the mesmerizing flora and fauna at the hills. Stay overnight in tented accommodation.

Day 08: BR Hills - Bandipur National Park
After a early breakfast depart for Bandipur. Arrive Bandipur and check-in to the lodge followed by a jeep safari to the National Park.

Located in the southern part of the beautiful state of Karnataka, Bandipur is one of the oldest wildlife sanctuaries in India. The Bandipur National Park was made by the Maharaja of Mysore in the year 1931 and was then spread over an area of 90 sq kms. However, it was later increased to 800 sq kms and renamed the Venugopala Wildlife Park after the residing deity of the shrine located here at Gopalswamy Betta. The name Bandipur National Park was given in the year 1973 when the Government took over the park under the Project Tiger Scheme and it was then made into a Tiger Reserve. Stay overnight at the resort.

Day 09: Bandipur National Park
There are three beautiful rivers that flow through the Bandipur sanctuary namely the Moyar river, the Kabini river and the Nagur river. The weather is ideally suited for a great vacation amidst nature. Bandipur is a lovely destination that can be visited all year round. The summer months from March to May would be a great time to watch the animals at the watering holes. However, the period between June to October (during the monsoons) is when Bandipur comes alive with greenery all over.

Enjoy a morning and evening safari to the jungle and explore the wildlife. Stay overnight at the resort.

Day 10: Bandipur National Park - Ooty
Morning depart for the beautiful south Indian Hill station of Ooty. On arrival in Ooty you will check in to the hotel. Rest of the day will be free to pursue personal activities or just relaxation. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 11: Ooty - Munnar
After breakfast drive to the beautiful town of Munnar which is known for its picturesque surroundings and lush green vegetation. Arrive Munnar and check in to the hotel. Evening enjoy a short tour of Munnar and return to hotel. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Munnar - Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
After breakfast drive to Periyar Wildlife sanctuary. Check-in to the hotel and proceed for a boat ride
on Lake Periyar. Stay overnight in the resort.

Day 13: Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary - Kumarakom
Make an early morning visit to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and explore the wild animals and birds at this National Park in South India. Afternoon drive to Kumarakom. On arrival at Kumarakom check into the resort for an overnight stay.

Day 14: Kumarakoram
Morning enjoy a backwater cruise on lake Kumarakom and later visit the Kumarakoram Bird Sanctuary in the afternoon. Stay overnight in the resort.

Day 15: Kumarakom – Cochin
After breakfast drive to Cochin. Arrive Cochin and check-in to the hotel. Later proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of Cochin which is also the commercial and industrial hub and capital of the state of Kerala. Start your tour with the Dutch Palace followed by a visit to the Jewish Synagogue, Fort Kochi, St. Francis Church & Santa Cruz Basilica. In the evening enjoy a Kathkali dance show at a local auditorium. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 16: Cochin – Bangalore (Departure)
Morning visit the Dutch cemetery, the Chinese fishing Nets and the Wilingdon Island. Afternoon a Hansa Vacations representative will transfer you to the airport to board flight to Bangalore where you will take the connecting International flight back home.
